Isai Salas-González, PhD
Computational Biologist
Isai is originally from Mexico where he received his bachelor’s degree in Genomic Sciences from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He moved to the United States to pursue his doctorate degree in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, under the supervision of Jeff Dangl and Corbin Jones. His Ph.D. work focused on unraveling novel mechanistic insights concerning plant-microbiome interactions via the integration of synthetic ecology and the analysis of multi-omics datasets.
In his spare time, Isai enjoys going for walks with his wife, playing the guitar, watching films, and reading Latin American novels and history books.
