Viren Amin, PhD

Genomic Data Engineer

Viren received his B.S. in Biochemistry from Rutgers University and M.S. in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Texas at Dallas. He pursued his Ph.D. in Human Genetics with a focus in Computational Biology from the Baylor College of Medicine and later did his Bioinformatics Postdoctoral Fellowship at the UT Southwestern Medical Center. His research experience spans a wide range of topics, including, epigenomics, transcriptomics, and developing novel bioinformatics tools.

Before BioSkryb, Viren was a Clinical Bioinformatics Lead at Baebies, Inc. responsible for designing and implementing scalable clinical informatics infrastructure to support newborn testing. He joined BioSkryb in June 2021, bringing his expertise in developing genomic data analysis workflows and genomic data management.

Outside of work, he loves going to trails and spending time with his family.
